Studies show that regular breast self-exams, combined with an annual exam by a doctor, improves the chances of detecting cancer early.
Try to get in the habit of doing a breast self-examination once a month to familiarize yourself with how your breasts normally look and feel. Examine yourself several days after your menstrual cycle ends, when your breasts are least likely to be swollen and tender. If you are no longer having menstrual cycles, choose a day that's easy to remember, such as the first day or last day of the month.
The unique health care needs of women require a special kind of doctor, one who listens first, and prescribes second.
Preventive care is a priority for us. We help you establish an age-appropriate routine for Pap smears, mammograms, and other screening services. Receiving optimum prenatal care for you and your baby, and outlining your birth plan, helps ensure a positive experience at delivery. All of our doctors are below the national C-section rate.
If addressing serious health issues that require surgery or specialized treatment, our practice works as a team, which means you benefit from the combined years of clinical experience and training of each doctor. Because you will always have two of our own physicians present at all major surgeries, success rates are high and the risk of complications is significantly decreased. Due to our experienced team of doctors, we are able to successfully perform a laparoscopic hysterectomy 95% of the time. The national average is only 35%.
We have expertise in all aspects of obstetrics and gynecological care, including but not limited to:
Our office is equipped with a state-of-the-art ultrasound machine. We are able to perform most scans on site for your convenience. We have the ability to do a 3D and 4D ultrasound.
We are able to perform many lab tests related to our specialty on-site for your convenience.
* Our physicians are Nebraska’s most experienced laparoscopic (minimally invasive) surgeons and have been Nebraska’s leaders in advanced laparoscopic surgery since 1988. Our goal is to use the smallest incisions to perform gynecological surgery. Please call us for a consultation or for a second opinion if surgery has been recommended for you.
